Sizzling Through The Season- Week 12 Cincinnati

Welcome back after what has felt like a long bye week for our New York Giants. Can you believe the giants are only a half of game out of first place with how rocky the season has gone so far? The Giants look to stay hot vs the very wounded Cincinnati Bengals. Let’s just enjoy the ride.

Today in honor of playing Cincinnati, I attempted to make their world famous Skyline Chili. It is a staple in Cincinnati, a must have when you visit. I must say it was pretty good but it was very different because my mind was thinking I was having Sunday gravy with different spices. I would recommend for you guys to try at least one time. 2 lbs ground beef

4 cups water

 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce or 6 oz tomato paste

 2 -3 tablespoons chili powder

2 tablespoons apple cider  

2 tablespoons cocoa power

2 teaspoons garlic power

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

 1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon salt

 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper  


 chopped onion (optional)

 finely shredded cheddar cheese (certainly NOT optional)

kidney bean (optional)


 Brown ground beef, add spices, tomato sauce and water. Transfer to crockpot and food on high for 3hrs or low for 6hrs. Serve over hot spaghetti, or hot dogs in buns for chili dogs. Top with plenty of cheese and other optional toppings.
