Saquon Barkley 2018 OROY

Your 2018 Offensive Rookie of the Year is New York Giants Running Back Saquon Barkley!

He swept both the AP and Pepsi awards! I’ll be honest as you saw in my last blog, I believed Baker was going to win. Simply because the league loves quarterbacks and normally give it to them.

As a die-heart Giants fans and a season ticket holder, I witnessed first hand the type of player and person he was.

Here are a few of his accolades:

  • The third rookie running back to gain over 2,000 total yardage in a season with 2,028.
  • Broke the Giants rookie rushing touchdown record with 11. This record was held for 72 years.
  • 1st Giants rookie RB to rush for a 1,000 yards.
  • Broke Reggie Bush’s rookie receptions record  with 91 catches in a year.
  • Tied Odell Beckham Jr’s Giants rookie record for receptions.
  • Finished second in the whole league in rushing.

I can’t express how happy I’m for him. He really is just a well rounded individual. I was able to tell the second the Giants selected him with the second pick of last years draft, he was the complete package. He has earned that kind of respect quickly because of these traits.

Year two can’t come fast enough for young Saquon and the Giants. I predict that he will be select by his teammates and coaches to be a team captain which is fantastic especially only being in the league for two season!

Thanks again for the magical season Saquon. Can’t wait to see what else you can do in the future.
